5 Reasons You Should Be Selling On Amazon

How many times this past Holiday season did you log on to Amazon and order a gift or two? I’d be willing to guess more then once.

Of those times you logged into Amazon, did you have to enter your payment information or was it conveniently already stored for your shopping pleasure? Let’s be honest, your credit card is most likely stored on your account.

Did they have what you were looking for or possible other product suggestions based on what you were searching for? I’m guessing the answer is yes.

Was the website user friendly, easy to navigate, and have a simple checkout process? The overwhelming majority would say, Yes.

Given the websites popularity, well deserved consumer trust, extensive product catalogue, and simple user friendly interface - it’s clear to see that there is massive business opportunity right in front of us!

That’s why I wanted to share these five reasons you should be selling on Amazon.

#1. The E-commerce market share has tremendous room for growth.

In 2017 the percentage of all retail sales made in the United States through E-commerce platforms was only 10%.  10%!!!! And this is only in the United States!!! With more and more people beginning to shop online that percentage is undoubtedly going to go up. Exponentially.

#2. In 2017 Amazon's sales totaled $196.8 Billion.

Along with this astonishing number, they also claimed 43% of the entire E-commerce market share. In 2016 Amazon’s sales were $149.1 Billion, having an increase of $47.7 Billion in sales in one year! 1 in every 4 Americans has an Amazon Prime account. The company ships over 1.6 million packages a day! This powerhouse company has exploded in the market while maintaining their customers trust and loyalty. Amazon is a search engine for PURCHASING. Their members credit cards are locked and loaded waiting for you to make the next purchase. With over 183 million traffic hits A DAY, Amazon is a no brainer if you are looking for an opportunity to sell.

#3. Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA)

Not only is Amazon providing you with this incredible web traffic, they also have fulfillment centers which handle the process of receiving, shipping, and packing goods all for a small fee. This service allows you to eliminate the headache of rushing to the post office everytime you make a sale, not having to store boxes and boxes of inventory in your home, and allows you to be able to work from wherever you want! Just as long as there is an internet connection:)

#4. Anyone can become a Amazon Seller.

Whether you are wanting to dive right in full time, start a side hustle, or increase revenue to an already existing business, selling on Amazon is the way to go! There are no time, money, or education requirements to get started. This truly is an entrepreneur's dream. You are the boss, you have the control over how much time, money and effort gets put into it. It’s all based on whatever you want to achieve with your business and how hard you are willing to work.

#5. Scale-ability.

For me- I was tired of trading time for money. I wanted to find something where I can make money based on how hard I worked, not how many hours I worked. Yes in the beginning it is a lot of hours for little to no pay. Selling on Amazon is not a get rich quick plan. It is a legitimate business that if worked diligently, has endless amounts of opportunity. You can start with one product, learn the ropes, launch it, and then rinse and repeat. Growing your Amazon product portfolio is one of the best opportunities to start an at home online business. Not to mention Amazon is an international marketplace and has platforms in countries all over the world including: UK, Germany, Spain, France, Mexico, Canada, Italy, and more! Utilizing those FBA centers and working out a few of the logistics you can easily sell products internationally. Now that's scalability :)

I’ll leave you with this little tale-

A young boy once asked a farmer... "sir, when is the best time to plant a tree?" The farmer replied "20 years ago but do you know what the second best time to plant a tree is?" The young boy leaning in with curiosity responded... "No, when would that be?" The wise old farmer chuckled and looked at the boy..."NOW" .

I am a firm believer in taking massive action, and also in the fact that you don’t have to be perfect to start, you just have to start!
